This collaborative performance-project at the IFFM Belgium was based on Louis Paul Boons observational book of life as experienced by Flemish people in a provincial town under German occupation in WW2.
The illuminated ‘Huis-je’ or ‘Little House’ represents the terraced home in Aalst from which he spied upon the world, obsessively detailing the activities of his neighbours and his misanthropic disgust for mans inhumanity.
Shrunken to the size of a shed, elevated and wrapped in a skin of pink latex the Huis-je is a beacon of illicit night-time activity, where stream-of-conscious is instantly laid bare as drawings and where the observer becomes observed.
